Anyone whose boating privileges are suspended or revoked may not operate a rental boat.
What should I know before I arrive?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time for check-in, paperwork, safety instruction and hands-on boat orientation. Late arrival will reduce your time on the water because the scheduled return time cannot be extended. Park in the designated parking areas at the North or South marina location you designated to pickup your rental and walk to the pro shop desk for check-in. Please bring: 1) A valid government-issued photo ID for every approved operator, 2) A major credit card for the $500 damage deposit hold, 3) Sunglasses and lotion sunscreen, 4) A familiar, properly fitted life jacket for an infant or small child, if preferred. Wedowee Marine has limited child/infant life jackets and Alabama laws require children under the age of 8 to wear coast guard certified life jackets at all times while on the boat. Spray sunscreen is prohibited on our boats because it can stain and damage the upholstery. Every approved operator must be present for check-in, sign the rental agreement and complete the required orientation before departure.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes. U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are included. Children under 8 must wear a properly secured life jacket at all times while aboard. We recommend bringing a familiar, properly fitted life jacket for infants or small children.
How many people can the boat hold?
Capacity varies by boat. The passenger and weight limits shown on the boat’s capacity plate may never be exceeded, and children count as passengers. Check the individual boat listing or contact us if you are planning for a larger group.

Each boat leaves with a full tank of fuel. If the boat is returned with less than a full tank, Wedowee Marine will refill it and charge the payment method on file for the fuel added.
Is there a damage deposit?
A $500 authorization hold is placed on the renter’s payment card. The hold will be released within seven days after the boat is returned, provided there is no damage, missing equipment or other outstanding charge. Your bank or card issuer may require additional processing time before the released funds become available.
What is your cancellation policy?
A $75 cancellation fee applies to every cancellation. More than seven days before check-in: Full refund, less the $75 cancellation fee. Seven days to 48 hours before check-in: 50% refund, less the $75 cancellation fee. Within 48 hours of check-in: No refund.

Safety comes first. Wedowee Marine may delay, shorten or cancel a rental when weather or lake conditions are unsafe. If we cancel before departure, the rental fee will be refunded in full. If we end a rental after departure because of unsafe conditions, the rental charge will be prorated based on the time used. Unless Wedowee Marine determines that conditions are unsafe, the standard cancellation policy applies.
Can we bring food, coolers or alcohol?

What are the basic rules while underway?
This is not an exhaustive list. But Everyone must remain seated while the boat is moving, with arms and legs inside the boat. The engine must be turned off whenever anyone is in the water. What if the boat has a problem on the water?
